In this position, you will come up with new image sensor topologies using your knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuits and collaborate closely and in an agile manner with our computer vision team. You will:
- Ideate new sensor architectures for high-value applications
- Design and layout high-performance analogue and mixed-signal circuits for sensor prototypes
- Be an agile learner who can acquire a diverse set of skills and insights
- Work closely with our interdisciplinary team and collaborate with sites from Japan and Europe
You should have:
- BSc or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
- Basic understanding of photodiode structure and operation
- Proficiency in analog and mixed-signal IC design and layout (bias, amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, etc.)
- Experience (preferably in industry) in design and tapeout of CMOS image sensors (CIS)
- Familiarity with analog EDA tools and simulation
- Fluency in English
You can set yourself apart if you have:
- Experience in an R&D or startup environment
- Basic knowledge of computer vision and/or machine learning
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience in behavioral modelling of image sensor circuits
The position is within the Sony Advanced Visual Sensing (AVS) group which is an R&D center of Sony Semiconductor Solutions based in Zurich, Switzerland and a former spin-off of the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich). We develop novel image sensors for a variety of applications in close collaboration with a strong team focused on computer vision algorithms, and sensing systems based on our existing world-leading expertise, in event-based cameras, CIS cameras, and more. We’re a small, dynamic, and young team where everybody can talk to everybody and give inputs on any topic at any time. The team continues to actively shape itself and everybody can have a big influence not only on technical topics but also on our culture and the way we work.
