JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a creative and innovative Multimedia Artist/Illustrator to join our dynamic team. As a multimedia artist/illustrator, you will develop captivating visuals and interactive content, combining elements of video, animation, graphic design, and sound. You will work closely with other creatives, developers, and clients to bring stories and concepts to life, crafting experiences that engage, educate, and inspire.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of contemporary Australian culture and social issues, and is skilled in using a range of multimedia tools and software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Creation: Develop original multimedia content, including video, animation, graphics, and interactive elements, for various platforms (web, mobile, installations, social media, etc.).
  • Project Collaboration: Collaborate with writers, directors, designers, and other team members to conceptualize and produce projects that align with creative briefs and client needs.
  • Editing and Post-Production: Perform editing, color correction, and sound design to create polished, high-quality multimedia experiences.
  • Innovation and Experimentation: Explore new technologies, techniques, and trends in multimedia, and incorporate them into your work to enhance storytelling and engagement.
  • Client Interaction: Present ideas and updates to clients, incorporate feedback, and make revisions as necessary to ensure client satisfaction.
  • File Management: Maintain organized, accessible file structures and ensure all content is delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of software design programs such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Effects, After Effects, and the like.
  • Excellent knowledge of storyboarding, visual design principles, and animation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Arts, Fine Arts, Animation, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an illustrator, multimedia artist, graphic design, or in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Artistic Skills: Strong visual storytelling abilities, and a keen eye for design, color, and composition.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and justify design choices.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Understanding of Australian culture, art, and social issues.
  • Interest in environmental, indigenous, or social themes relevant to Australian society.
  • A passion for innovation and an eagerness to explore new media.
