RESPEC is seeking a motivated, talented professional for a hydrotechnical geoscientist to join our growing mine water management group in Vancouver, BC.
Job Description
The hydrotechnical geoscientist will be part of a team that will assist in hydrogeology evaluations and expanding the company’s capabilities in groundwater services and data analytics..
The primary activities include groundwater modeling; field investigations of surface and subsurface fluid and gas mining evaluations and problems; economic brine evaluations; hydrogeological field testing and analysis; and data analysis of large multidisciplinary data sets.
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Mine Water Management and support our clients and their water management needs.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in geological engineering or sciences
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical modelling, groundwater flow modeling, statistical methods, and programming with a preference in MATLAB. Preference will be given to those that have applied these skills in surface and underground mines
- Experience working with economic brines and potash and phosphate mining would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge in modern software programs for professional office activities (e.g., Microsoft Office suite and spreadsheet calculations)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and technical communication skills (both written and oral) and fluent in English.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the EPP after a qualifying period.
