Job Summary:
You will handle a variety of responsibilities & report directly to the Plant Manager. With the help of the corporate HR team, you interpret & administer HR policies. Among many other duties, you ensure labor relations are carried out in a cooperative manner… & handle all hourly labor issues. This involves investigating events & recommending solutions to management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend daily production meetings.
- Work with supervisors to ensure the completion of performance evaluations & calculate pay increases.
- Involved in negotiations & conduct up to 4 climate meetings a year.
- Handle and track grievances & work with union representatives for proper resolution.
- Perform recruitment activities (i.e. interviewing, reference checking, benefits enrollment etc.)
- Payroll responsibilities.
- Handling disciplinary actions taken as well as terminations.
- Labor issues associated with the hourly workforce.
- Resolve or recommend solutions for management approval.
- Enforce that all activities are carried in accordance with a union contract.
- Select, develop, show leadership how to empower direct reports.
- Participate & supports safety & quality projects and activities and responsible care initiatives.
- When warranted, work w/ co. lawyer on grievances proceeding to arbitration.
- Ensure personnel files are maintained appropriately. Maintain records.
- Handle special projects as they come up.
Education/Experiences/Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to work in the US for any company without sponsorship now or in the future.
- BA or BS in HR or a related relevant focus or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have plant experience from a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 5 years of human resource experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
