SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Duties include following policies and procedures for the Human Resource Department. Responsible for supporting the program in hiring new employees, employee evaluations, employee training, and maintaining employee records. Collaborates with the HR Director on issues and ways to improve service to the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

18 years of age or older and a high school diploma or GED. Capable of communicating well in both verbal and written form. Demonstrated supervisory skills, ability to prioritize work, and able to complete all assigned program documentation accurately and within the allotted time frames. Able to understand and manage personnel issues and deal with staff in a positive manner.

 35 to 40 hours a week M-F. This position starts at 19.50 an hour.

Desired Requirements:

  • Understanding of DSPD policies.
  • Have good judgment and able to handle crisis situations.
  • Have good general writing skills and can articulate oneself on a variety of issues.
  • Able to understand and manage personnel issues and deal with staff in a positive manner.
  • Computer skills.
  • Have good public relations skills in working with a variety of medical, professional and state employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and hire new employees
  • Enter Employee data into Paylocity
  • Use Paylocity to insure proper information is entered
  • Manage employee corrective action
  • Manage E-verify
  • Insure employees' training is completed
  • Maintain employee records
  • Manage employee benefits enrolment
  • Oversee compliance with the policy and procedures manual
  • Manage worker compensation insurance
