Join our talented and friendly team at Park View as a HR Specialist! This is a Full-Time position offering competitive pay and generous benefits working Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
In this role, you will be responsible for the Administrative Human Resource functions and serve as back up for payroll for both the Park View Care Center and Park View Assisted Living. You will work as a team with the HR Manager and Payroll Coordinator. HR functions will include: new hire process, background checks, employee relations, leave of absence, workers compensation and unemployment. Human Resources Specialist responsibilities:
- Responsible for the onboarding processes for new hires including background checks, references, license verifications and communication with new hires.
- Answers employee questions regarding HR, benefits, payroll and leave of absence.
- Process new hire and termination documentation.
- Work with staff and managers to administer HR policies (i.e. leave of absence, workers compensation, pay policies).
- Assist the Home Office during the annual open enrollment period for benefits.
- Main point of contact to troubleshoot employee HRIS access and usage issues.
- Records and maintains employee information to maintain and update payroll/HRIS system and employee files.
Human Resources Specialist skills and requirements:
- 3+ years of HR, Benefits and/or payroll experience preferred.
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in related field (Business or Human Resources)
- Must have working knowledge of employment law and best practices.
- Experience working with HRIS systems
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical abilities and computer skills.
- Positive communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to take initiative, be proactive, and demonstrate flexibility.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Team player who has a passion for elder care and adapts quickly to changing situations.
