JOB SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB SUMMARY:

With limited supervision and a strong knowledge of the organization’s structure, strategy, goals and challenges, serves as a trusted advisor and consultant on human capital related issues.

The HR Generalist is a versatile role responsible for providing comprehensive HR support in areas such as employee relations, talent management, staffing challenges, and HR administration. This role partners closely with leaders to address team member concerns, enhance workforce planning, and ensure smooth HR operations. Expertise in HRIS systems, particularly Workday, is essential to succeed in this position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Partner with leaders to address team member challenges, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations into workplace concerns and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks and maintain a positive work environment.

Staffing and Talent Management:

  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop strategies to address challenges.
  • Support the recruitment process by working with hiring managers and the talent acquisition team to identify and onboard top talent.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, employee development plans, and succession planning.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS (Workday), ensuring data integrity and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Manage the administration of HR programs, including benefits, leaves of absence, and compliance reporting.
  • Assist with drafting and maintaining HR policies and procedures as needed.

HRIS Management (Workday):

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday, assisting with system maintenance, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Train managers and employees on using Workday to streamline HR processes.

Partnership with Leadership:

  • Collaborate with leaders to provide HR insights and support for business objectives.
  • Coach managers on handling sensitive employee situations, promoting a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Align HR initiatives with organizational goals and ensure effective communication across teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong experience with HRIS systems, particularly Workday.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • HR Expertise:

    • Solid understanding of HR best practices, policies, and employment laws.
    • Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Interpersonal Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide guidance to team members and leaders.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Organizational Skills:

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist role or similar capacity.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
