TEAM
The HR Business Associate is a part of the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team. The HRBP team’s primary role is to work with business leaders to advise on building the talent and organization to deliver our mission and vision, in a way that is consistent with our values. HR Business Partners serve as the primary front line interface to hear, recognize, understand, and address the business’ talent needs. HRBPs’ mission is to identify and apply existing solutions, or drive the creation of new solutions in partnership with relevant teams within the company.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated HR Business Associate to join our Human Resources Business Partner team. This junior-level position is designed for individuals eager to develop their expertise in HR business partnership roles. Some of your skills include global & cultural sensitivity, experience in the HR field, and an ability and interest in partnering with internal clients. The HR Business Associate will support the Senior HR Business Partner in executing HR strategies that align with business objectives by handling day-to-day HR Business Partner tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Partnership Support: Assist the Senior HR Business Partner in understanding and addressing the HR needs of specific business units.
- Manager partnering: work with first-line managers on their queries and provide information and coaching.
- Employee Relations: Support more complex and sensitive employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support and escalating/aligning with the Senior HR Business Partner or other partners as necessary.
- Performance Management: Support the implementation and administration of performance management processes. Assist in preparing performance review processes, materials, and tools, and facilitate performance discussions when needed.
- Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS system. Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to support business decisions.
- Learning and Development: Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating development programs with Senior HRBP to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Employee engagement: pulse surveys, new hire check-ins, and other activities to gather the grassroots voice and create appropriate talent interventions in line with the organization’s needs
- Employee Exits: Advising managers, conducting exit interviews, and reporting on attrition & aligning with senior HRBP on attrition action plans
- Talent project support: join and support company-wide talent development initiatives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR role, with exposure to HR business partner functions.
- Solid understanding of Japan HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, and can learn quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HRIS systems.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Japanese and English business fluency or a high degree of proficiency
NICE TO HAVES
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is ideal
- Experience partnering with global colleagues across time zones
- Experience in the tech or automotive industry is beneficial.
