Purpose
To take responsibility and provide a proactive comprehensive HR support to managers and all employees within the Company.  To support the HR Manager with the HR KPI reporting, project work, HR activities by networking and promoting Stanley Black & Decker as an Employer of Choice.
Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line full HR support, advice and guidance on HR matters including general enquiries and employee relations, employment legislation, policies and procedures, disciplinary and grievances, absence and performance management.
  • Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels, providing expert advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of HR best practice.
  • Assisting with and developing recruitment campaigns attending recruitment fairs, schools, HR Forum meetings to promote the Stanley Black & Decker brand.
  • Co-ordinating, advising and supporting managers on recruitment and selection to recruit the best candidates in a timely manner.
  • Training and coaching managers to develop their people management skills as required.
  • Advising and supporting on the organisation’s employee appraisal system with performance reviews and personal development plans.
  • Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives.
  • Supporting managers with investigations and employee relations issues, including grievance and disciplinary.
  • Supporting managers to ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with the Company’s policy.  To facilitate a proactive approach to absence management.
  • Undertake policy development work and ensure all policies and procedures meet legal and business requirements.
  • Take responsibility for the implementation of all HR policy, ensuring that all HR issues are dealt with within the timescales set out in the procedures.
  • Provide and Supporting HR technology and introducing solutions to improve day-to-day operations (HRMS software)
  • Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data provide accurate and timely reports monitoring the HR KPI metrics, such as turnover, absenteeism, promotions, etc.  Analyse and identify trends to create action plans to focus and drive continuous improvements.
  • Support the HR Manager in the development of strong communication and feedback channels with all employees.  Through a variety of mechanisms to support employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.
  • Foster an inclusive culture for all and work as one team within the organisation.
  • Drive the Corporate Social Responsibility agenda for the organisation by being instrumental in the community events, supporting employee volunteering with charities, fundraising events etc.

Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years previous HR advisory experience required
  • Partly or fully qualified HR Generalist CIPD Level 5 is desirable
  • Experience of working for a large US Corporate, multi-national manufacturing or sales focused organisation would be beneficial
  • Strong organisational skills and process driven with the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment
  • Hands-on advanced PC skills and HR systems (Microsoft Office, Oracle, etc.)
  • Advanced Knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • Ability to design clear and fair Company policies and procedures
  • Practical and logical approach with the ability to solve problems quickly
