Our Tax team makes sure that we operate policies and governance procedures that ensure we comply with tax laws in every territory we do business. With a high level of autonomy and responsibility, you’ll work across teams at Wise to contribute to our overall tax strategy, reducing risks, costs and keeping us compliant.

Your mission

  • Take responsibility for leading the Transfer Pricing function within the Tax team at Wise enabling us to ensure compliance in 20+ markets.

  • Undertake a review of positions taken in material markets and lead audits raised around the world, including providing guidance to the team to mitigate risk to the group on Transfer Pricing.

  • Review of Transfer Pricing calculations performed and documentation prepared to ensure Transfer Pricing is implemented accurately and appropriately.

  • Build strong relationships with business partners and provide timely, accurate, practical and proactive Transfer Pricing advice to the business e.g. on topics such as interaction with capital regulatory requirements, launch of new markets and products, etc. This can be complex given the fluid and autonomous nature of teams. Key stakeholders include other members of the tax team, financial controllers, accountants, product and expansion teams.

  • Build up a network and work efficiently with external advisors, being fully aligned with the rest of the tax team, to manage tax exposures, be up to date on ongoing compliance obligations and understand the impact of expansion as Wise develops its global footprint and service offerings.

  • Helping the Head of Tax in managing and reporting tax risks, tax provisions, and risk incidences to be escalated, as well as supporting initiatives to develop the Tax and Finance function.

  • Managing and leading the Transfer Pricing tax function (team of 2 individuals).

What We Do

We’re making a positive, irreversible change in the world of finance. Together.

People on every continent around the world are choosing Wise to help them live, travel and work internationally. We’re the fairest, easiest way to send money overseas.

Built by and for people who live global lives, we make sending money abroad up to 8 times cheaper than the bank. This is money without borders - instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free.

For our customers, using Wise is as simple as sending money from A to B, but behind our app and website is a complex engine of currencies and routes, that’s being designed, built and powered by our talented teams in cities around the world.

We’re just at the beginning of our story and we’re growing at an incredible pace. We won’t stop until anyone, anywhere can send, spend and receive money wherever they are, whatever they’re doing. There’s still heaps to do and we can’t do it alone.

Why Work With Us

We are a mission-driven company, looking to change banking for the better. Current banking systems don’t let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply. So, we’re building a new one. If you're looking for an autonomous work environment, where you'll face cool challenges, learn and grow, you'll like working at Wise
