Pernod Ricard Netherlands focuses on the marketing and sales of our brands in the Netherlands and is part of Pernod Ricard Benelux.

PURPOSE

The Head of Trade Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of brand strategies across all channels in the country by collaborating with the Marketing team. This role serves as a vital communication link between the sales and marketing departments, ensuring that brand strategies are effectively translated into actionable channel plans. Channels to be activated: off-trade, on-trade, liquor stores and ecommerce for the full portfolio (including prestige).

RESPONSIBILITIES

STRATEGIC CHANNEL MANAGEMENT

  • The main responsibility is the development of the channel plans in synergy with the marketing plan, in close collaboration with Brand Managers, Field Sales Managers (FSM), and Key Account Managers.

  • Strategic challenger of local brand plans to BMs to make sure brand plans are covering the Dutch market needs.

  • Define the entire trade marketing plan together with his team (responsible per channel) to beat the market and support the sell-out, trial, and brand engagement.

  • Ensure a flawless communication between departments and lead the transversal meetings to create channel activations and follow-up (example: game plan meeting).

  • Key stakeholder in transversal processes such as brand plans, beyond budget, business performances reviews, pre-forecasting sessions, taskforces, able to challenge both marketing an sales team in their vision if needed.

  • Ensure brand activations are well executed in the different channels.

  • Support of BMs for local activations when needed/local contact for key agencies.

BUDGET & KPIS

  • Manage and follow up on the activity budget for trade marketing activations.

  • Define KPIs per channel and brand to support the right development of the plans.

  • Challenge and support the trade terms & on-trade contracts negotiations.

ANALYTICS

  • Be the market data expert, developing and leveraging data analysis to enhance various activities and processes.

    • Support business development across Belgium and Luxembourg through a data-driven channel strategy vision.

    • Monitor channel performance and implement corrective actions to meet objectives.

    • Lead category management and trade marketing projects.

TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Lead and mentor a team of 2 Trade Marketing Managers specialized by channel (Retail & Convenience, Liquor Stores & E-commerce and On Trade & Prestige) and 2/3 Brand Ambassadors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business and/or Economics

  • Minimum of 5 years of a similar experience in an FMCG environment (brand management, trade marketing)

  • A previous experience in the spirits and hospitality industry is a plus.

  • Fluent in English, Dutch is highly recommended.

  • Solution-oriented and results-driven.

  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Adaptable and open-minded.

  • Proficient in strategic planning

  • Strong brand sensitivity with a passion for trends and consumer understanding

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Project management skills with strong ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Strong budget and financial analysis skills (KPI setting, analysis, and follow-up)

  • Preference for strong knowledge on PR, Influencers strategy, Digital and L3F (both on trade and off trade
