Responsible for driving excellence in talent, tactics, and operations throughout BGOV’s sales team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drives excellence in sales execution; conducts regular performance and pipeline reviews to identify bottlenecks for each sales professional.
- Provides training, development, guidance, and advice to staff.
- Ensures the delivery of individualized and group coaching sessions on closing skills, cold calling, networking, meeting management, solution/consultative sales, negotiations, enterprise sales, objection handling, and any other skill gaps identified during pipeline reviews.
- Delivers continuous improvement in BGOV sales operations.
- Recommends, approves, and implements policies, procedures, and schedules for BGOV sales team.
- Develops and implements strategies and programs related to sales.
- Manages team in the successful attainment of goals, business planning and reporting, CRM management and operations, organizational structure within the sales team, direct sales, cost management, and related issues.
- Develops qualitative and quantitative indicators for sustainable performance.
- Attracts, develops, motivates, and retains high-end B2B sales talent.
- Makes recommendations concerning employment, terminations, performance, and other personnel actions.
- Plans, organizes, distributes, and coordinates the flow of work.
- Ensures corporate and other applicable policies, procedures, and schedules are followed.
- Commands the respect and shapes the behavior of high end sales professionals.
- Attends local networking events as a representative of BGOV.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in driving transformational change or managing teams within an entrepreneurial environment highly advantageous.
- Strong experiences and personal case studies of managing teams to sell for value rather than price and identify unexpressed customer needs, while critically assessing articulated customer demands.
- Demonstrated instincts, effectiveness, and top-line results in high-end B2B sales management, including excellence across both up and down markets, across multiple products and/or platforms, and over a sustained period of time.
- Success in extending one of the world’s foremost B2B brands.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in recruiting and leading teams of top B2B sales professionals, including the ability to convert and develop sales professionals from non-sales fields.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate professional sales staff.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to build relationships and work successfully with a variety of people.
- Ability to travel out of town on a frequent basis.
- Proven patience and determination in sales operations, coaching, and pipeline management.
- Experience as a direct sales contributor.
- Familiarity with the industry.
- Knowledge of, and experience using the Bloomberg terminal preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, marketing, sales or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressively responsible and successful sales experience, including at least 5+ years of managing sales reps in a comparable role.
- Comparable experience in sales management with an organization similar to BGOV preferred.
