We are looking for a Head of Platform Infrastructure

Target total compensation ranges from $435,000 - $650,000, including a fixed annual salary of $285,000 - $340,000, an employee equity plan grant, and world-class benefits.

Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

Rokt is hiring a Head of Platform Infrastructure to define and lead the vision, strategy, development, and scaling of our technology platforms. Reporting to the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the robustness, scalability, and security of our infrastructure, enabling innovation across all product lines and ensuring exceptional user experiences. This is a senior leadership position that requires a deep technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. 

As Rokt continues to expand globally, processing billions of real-time events across mission-critical customer experiences, we need a leader to scale the platform that powers it all. You'll be responsible for building the infrastructure that enables rapid iteration, global reliability, and developer happiness. This role requires substantial operational experience in a large-scale, cloud-based, high-reliability, always-on environment. The team will manage all infrastructure at Rokt.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, lead and scale a high performing 20+ person team in a fast growth environment.
  • Lead from the front. You’ll be expected to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty for a while.
  • Own Rokt’s core platform infrastructure capabilities: compute, networking, CI/CD, observability, messaging, and service mesh.
  • Design and evolve our fault-tolerant infrastructure spanning AWS and GCP, optimizing for compliance, resilience, and developer agility.
  • Own cloud efficiency and cost optimization strategies across environments.
  • Lead the strategy and operations of our Kafka-based event-driven platform, handling 20B+ messages daily
  • Monitor, assess, and report on the platform's health, including its performance, reliability, and security, using relevant key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide regular platform health and progress updates to senior leadership.
  • Drive strategic platform initiatives in collaboration with engineering leadership to achieve their team’s goals.
  • Introduce AI/ML-powered infrastructure automation for predictive scaling, alerting, and anomaly detection.
  • Recruit top talent to expand and develop Rokt’s infrastructure.

Requirements

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years' senior leadership experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or cloud services 
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience leading software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in the development of high-volume transaction processing solutions within distributed systems.
  • Experience developing in a modern programming language. (C#, Java, Python, Golang)
  • Experience in leading incident management and building infrastructure on public cloud technologies at scale

Deep expertise in:

    • Cloud infrastructure (AWS + GCP)
    • Kubernetes, Istio, Karpenter, etc
    • Kafka, Pulsar, or similar event streaming platforms
    • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
    • CI/CD and secure software delivery pipelines
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills and have the ability to effectively influence stakeholders across engineering, product, and executive levels.
  • A builder’s mindset: energized by complexity, passionate about velocity, and obsessed with user (developer) experience.
