About the role

We are looking for a world-class Performance Marketer to optimise and grow our presence, across a range of channels. If you like to test, learn, measure, and report - this is the role for you!

As Halter has grown into a scale-up, we're looking for a Marketer to help us execute on various multi-touchpoint initiatives. The Head of Performance Marketing will take ownership of our digital channels and activities; both organic and paid. The ideal candidate for this role has experience running digital marketing for a high-growth business and has a proven track record of achieving key business goals, in particular, qualified lead generation via inbound channels.

We believe that successful marketing campaigns are 20% creative ideas and 80% execution and optimising, therefore a strong background in implementation, reporting, analytics, and using data will be key for any successful applicant. We are looking for a Performance Marketer who won’t stop once a campaign is in the market and move on to the next. We need someone who knows that campaign launch is only the start and who will spend just as much time (if not more) optimising live campaigns as they do developing new ones.

While this is a senior role with a strategic focus, we’re a small, agile team with a dynamic culture. As such, the right person is just as excited about helping to execute and optimise campaigns as they are about coming up with new ideas and strategies. We’re looking for someone who can brainstorm big ideas one day, develop the detailed strategies to make those ideas happen the next and then get their hands dirty executing the plan with the rest of the team – followed by the relentless hunt for ways to optimise live campaigns for better results.

You will work closely with our Director of Marketing and leaders across Brand/Event Marketing, Content and Design. We are looking for someone that can bridge being a do-er, with being a player-coach. As the marketing function continues to scale, you will be a core part of our marketing leadership team.

This will be a fast-paced and demanding role, with exceptional high rewards for the right person. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of a digital marketing programme and put your mark on it, as well as helping more farmers discover the farming revolution that is Halter – in New Zealand, the USA and then the world.

What your day could look like

  • Own the Digital Marketing strategy and execution, including campaigns, website touchpoints, virtual events, and the ‘offline’ to digital customer journey.
  • You’ll own and be accountable for the digital marketing budget
  • Lead generation - Develop, execute and optimise campaigns aimed at generating new leads at scale. Identify, scope and present new ideas and tactics to generate more leads.
  • Reporting & Optimising - Working with Revenue Operations, collect and analyse campaign results to optimise live campaigns to deliver better results over time. Pull out insights to help drive the direction and success of your team, and Halter as a whole
  • Website Management & Optimisation - Take ownership of making the Halter website a high-performing lead generation and nurture machine.
  • You’ll work collaboratively with the wider team to execute on our big events of the year, and cross-functional campaigns

Who are we looking for

  • A true, data-driven marketing executor and leader
  • 7+ years in a digital marketing-focused role, ideally for a similar high-growth business.
  • Proven track record of scaling lead generation efforts.
  • Proven track record delivering impactful and successful end-to-end marketing campaigns.
  • A data-driven (there that phrase is again!) approach to marketing with demonstrable experience gathering, analysing and leveraging data to optimise campaigns.
  • Experience preparing and presenting campaign performance reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to generate, or drive the generation of, compelling content.
  • Experience leveraging both online and offline marketing channels.
  • Experience working with brand marketing, content and design to get the most out of your job
  • High-degree of ownership and ability to thrive in a demanding and dynamic startup atmosphere
  • Experience working in a fast-paced tech startup environment is advantageous.
