The Education Software Product Unit vision is to simplify everyday life at schools. Our product family Edlevo contains products for Student Administration, Learning Management and Scheduling. Our products are innovative, well designed, reliable and secure, simplifying daily work and enabling more focus on learning in the schools. We are ~200 colleagues and operate primarily in the public sector. Our solutions are used by over 400 municipalities and private schools with more than 600.000 users. We are operating in Sweden and Finland, with extended development operations located in Pune, India.

Today we are the leader in Student Administration software products for all school forms, from pre-school to adult school in Sweden and for the pre-schools in Finland. We are currently expanding our product portfolio to be able to continue to grow with new products on our existing markets, and in the coming years an expansion to all school forms in Finland.

As the Head of the Education Software Product Unit, you will develop and implement a strong product vision that aligns with the overall Tietoevry product strategy while being accountable for the profit and loss of the entire Edlevo product portfolio. Your role will be crucial in driving the success of Edlevo software products and enhancing our mission to improve everyday life in schools. You will focus on developing the product in alignment with market needs, ensuring that we continuously adapt and innovate to stay ahead of industry trends. By prioritizing customer feedback and market research, you will refine our offerings to optimize business performance and drive profitability. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, high-level product strategy, and lifecycle management of current and future products, alongside operational development and team management. A key expectation of your role will be to leverage the fast-moving world of Data & AI to enhance our products, ensuring they not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of our customers in the education sector.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategic Planning:
•    Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Education Software Product Unit, aligning it with Tietoevry's overall objectives and strategy.
•    Provide visionary leadership, setting clear goals and priorities for the unit.

2. Product Development and Management:
•    Oversee the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the Edlevo product portfolio
•    Drive innovation and ensure that solutions meet the Edtech market practises and public sector national standards.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product roadmap and prioritize feature development.

3. Go-to-market:
•    Working very close with the Sales, Product Management and Product Services functions to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, ensuring market penetration and customer acquisition
•    Engage with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs and challenges, and align product plans accordingly.
•    Support revenue growth through successful product positioning and competitive differentiation.

4. Team Management and Development:
•    Lead and inspire a diverse team in functions including Products & Strategy, Technology & Development, Product Services, and Sales.
•    Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
•    Support career development and employee engagement initiatives to attract and retain top talent.

Qualifications:

•    Strong experience in software product development.
•    Higher education within Information Technology or a related field.
•    Extensive leadership experience within the software industry, preferably in a product-centric unit.
•    Demonstrated experience from doing business based on a SaaS business model.
•    Knowledge of the potential of technology trends such as AI to enhance customers' business and internal processes in the organization.
•    Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
•    Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Proven track record in driving product innovation and revenue growth.
•    Experience in running an international diverse team
•    It is regarded as a strength, but not a requirement, if you have experience from the Edtech sector 
•    It is regarded as a strength, but not a requirement, if you previously have been involved in public sector business with good understanding of public sector procurement processes, public sector agenda and experience with public tenders and contract management.
