Overview
Do you want to be part of a collaborative problem-solving cyber security team? Guardian Life is looking for a Head of Cyber Defense and Response. This leader will execute the strategy and engineering of Guardians cyber security technology solutions that defend and protect Guardian’s enterprise. A self-starter who is fueled by collaboration, process improvement, attention to detail, innovation to transform and develop talent and run security engineering and strategy. The right individual will partner across the Enterprise Cyber Security Organization & company to ensure Guardian’s assets are well protected and defended against cyber threats. You have
- 5-7 years of security operations/engineering and management/leadership experience.
- Knowledge of securing cloud, identity, network, web, endpoint, database & data.
- Ability to understand threat landscapes and synthesize risks.
- Handled and triaged security events & incidents
- Manage cyber threats and protect and defend them.
- Ability to lead a diverse high performing team.
- Ability to accelerate impact and lead security changes.
- Possess a BS/MS in relevant experience in cyber security and/or industry certifications.
You will
- Lead a team of cyber defense engineering professionals responsible for planning, design, implementation, and cyber threat mitigation.
- Support the detection and protection security platforms & systems.
- Provide deep technical understanding of security systems/platforms at different layers (identity/data/infrastructure/cloud).
- Work closely with and partner with fellow security experts.
- Guide and mentor team on a day-to-day basis.
- Work with all interfacing teams to define and baseline the system uptime SLAs.
- Work with other Cyber Security service teams to manage cloud, network, data, and endpoint protections effectively and efficiently. In doing so, work closely with architecture, engineering, incident response & assurance teams to assess & research of threat vectors and provide mitigation approaches & strategies.
- Work with stakeholders, mentoring and providing technological guidance on infrastructure security. Possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies & controls, provide security protection on cloud and guide/mentor the security experts on this front.
- Manage staff, including selection, goal setting, annual reviews, and compensation planning and career development.
- Provide recommendations to the management team to increase the effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.
- Develop and nurture teams of cyber defense engineers by motivating, mentoring, and assisting in hiring of critical security talent.
- Work closely with cyber security experts. Guide and mentor them on a day-to-day basis.
- Prioritize the planning of projects and features, stakeholder management, and tracking of firm security commitments.
- Respond to and assist with due diligence and internal / external security audit requests.
- Supports, implements and promotes standard configuration and change management, processes and practices in all buildings of security control technology.
- Identify opportunities to further enhance and refine cyber defense standards and processes.
Location:
- Three days a week at a Guardian location in Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Holmdel, NJ or Bethlehem, PA
Salary Range:
$148,940.00 - $244,685.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
