COMMERCIAL

We're at the creative, cutting-edge of fashion. It's our job to source supply partners (multi brand boutiques & brands), as well as optimize the Farfetch sales channel for our supply partners. We collaborate with almost every team across the business, which keeps things varied and exciting! Through our deep relationships with our supply partners, we have a core part in the success of Farfetch. The Commercial team in the US consists of Business Development and Account (Boutique) Management.


NEW YORK

Our New York office is located in Midtown near the iconic Bryant Park and the historic Grand Central Terminal, New York's best-connected office neighbourhood. The beautifully designed office has 360 views and tall windows to bring the outside in. The office is open with plenty of rooms and booths to take a private call, have time to relax, work in private, or have a large collaborative meeting.


THE ROLE

As the Head of Commercial, North America, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the region’s commercial strategy, which will align with Farfetch’s overarching commercial strategy. You will be a senior member of the team working closely with high level roles across the Farfetch business. You will support the commercial team to drive topline sales growth through strategic partnerships with luxury brands and multi-brand boutiques. In parallel, you will develop and support the implementation of a robust business development pipeline, leveraging market insights and industry trends to identify new opportunities for new supply partnership opportunities. You will utilize established relationships with high-end boutiques and brands in order to introduce them to the Farfetch marketplace business model, build partnership strategy and external trust.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • In this leadership role, you will oversee a team of six located in New York and Los Angeles. 
  • You will mentor & support the Account Management & Business Development team in order to enable the team to achieve strong results from Farfetch supply partners.
  • The US commercial team manages over 100 supply partners, which require strategic relationship building in order to deliver topline sales & assortment growth. 
  • You will be visible in the fashion industry- attending relevant industry events, travelling to meet with key partners & prospects, etc. 
  • Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work cross-functionally with central Farfetch teams in operations, tech, implementation, marketing, editorial, private client and production to optimize commercial initiatives. 
  • Additionally, you will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, presenting data-driven insights and trade analysis to drive informed decision-making on behalf of the regional commercial partners.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 10-12 years of commercial experience with an emphasis on business to business relations, business development or sales
  • You have 3-5 years of people management experience
  • You have strong experience & relationships in luxury, ecommerce, retail or fashion industries
  • You have excellent planning and organisational skills; expertise to manage and improve complex projects
  • You have exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills
  • You have strong presentation skills (both written and verbal) & negotiation/ contracting skills
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with (occasional) ambiguity
  • You are a strategic thinker with an emphasis on operational excellence
  • You are commercially minded - strong focus on business growth with ability to work towards metrics and targets
  • You have the ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally with strong stakeholder management 
  • Knowledge of MS Excel (can perform complex functions), Google Slide (can create impactful presentations), Salesforce experience is a plus

NYC WAGE TRANSPARENCY LAW

  • The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $140,000 and $200,000 [year]; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
  • If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
