Head of Capital Projects & Engineering, Europe
About the Position
Here at Kraft Heinz, #WeChampionGreatPeople and we're looking for an experienced Head of Capital Projects & Engineering, Europe. Based in the Amsterdam office as a member of the Capital Engineering and Supply Chain Development team, you will partner will all functions of the business and play a critical role in delivering the Europe Capital Engineering plan on time in full. This involves capacity expansion through current installations & new factory development. Next to this, you will ensure all investment proposals clearly prove the business case and project viability. This position reports to the Head of Capital Engineering and Supply Chain Development.
Responsibilities
- To lead the development of the 3 year strategic Capex Master Plan for Europe, working with Head of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Development Leads, Factory Managers, Procurement, Logistics and Package Sponsors, ensuring alignment with category plans, complete with impact on KPIs.
- Lead the process to generate the Europe Capex Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ensuring alignment with Zone category plans.
- To deploy FEL Project Management Process, Engineering Standards, Preferred Suppliers, Procedures and KPIs for Capex projects for Europe factories and be gatekeeper of the processes to ensure compliance.
- To present Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) to Zone and EVP Committees for Europe factories.
- Ensure the adoption of Engineering Pillar of the Manufacturing Playbook (KHMS) within the factories.
- To track the execution of the Project Portfolio for Europe, and agree changes, through rigorous prioritisation and weekly / monthly reviews with Sites, Package Sponsors, Finance and Operations Leadership team.
- Leading a team of 4 FTE and acting as dotted line manager for all Engineering teams across the factories
Key Output of the role:
• A 3-year prioritized investment plan by factory which enables Kraft Heinz commercial ambitions and successful operational results by addressing key legislative, risk management, growth, cost out and essential replacement requirements.
• Capital projects designed to maximize operating income and factory efficiency whilst ensuring that all quality, environmental and safety requirements are met. This will include a thorough evaluation of alternative courses of action.
• Compliance with Directives & local Regulations. External and Company Standards, Relevant company procedures pertaining to Safety, Environment, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Financial Accounting.
• Accurate planning of capital project costs, milestones and resources from concept to completion and integration of plans with all relevant functions and accurate fo0recasting and reporting of associated financial commitments including the identification of financial risks and opportunities.
• Identify and develop opportunities for improvement to existing equipment, production lines and operating systems to maximise the efficiency and output of manufacturing operations which are aligned with corporate and site strategic goals.
Attributes & Experience
• Strong Leader and experienced engineer with a thorough knowledge of proven and advanced technology and with the ability to apply that knowledge practically to ensure competitive and innovative advantage.
• Able to communicate and present technical Business Cases and Investment Proposals up to Vice President level and to Executive Vice President level when required
• Highly numerate and financially aware to allow project financial analysis to be completed in conjunction with financial analysts. Ability to identify appropriate project sensitivities and account for expenditure appropriately.
• End to End Business and deep Supply Chain understanding
• Excellent project management skills particularly, organizational, influencing and planning skills.
• Highly competent oral and written communicator including presentation to senior management forums and able to create concise and effective reports and written business cases for technical and non-technical audiences
