About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The HRIT Business Systems Analyst works with the HR functional teams and our customers in the colleges and divisions to enhance and maintain Workday configuration that improves the way we work while meeting regulatory and business requirements. The HRIT Business Systems Analyst leads the development of solutions, providing project management oversight and implementing all phases of the project life cycle, including project planning and communication. In addition, the Analyst will assist with planning and implementation of the testing efforts, including development of test cases, coordination between technical and business resources, and documentation of the testing results. Finally, the Analyst will participate in change management activities including developing training materials and providing system support. This position will focus on Workday HCM Modules, including, but not limited to Core HCM, Core Compensation, Recruiting, Talent and Performance Management and Learning. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee may be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed. This role may provide support to our London location, which may require some occasional availability during their business hours to ensure seamless operations and assistance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced level of Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency with core HR systems, including time management, talent acquisition, benefits, payroll and compensation.
- Proficiency with developing, implementing and revising test plans and test cases.
- Skills and attributes required include: oral/written communication skills (to exchange information effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences); self-starter who takes initiative, works independently, and uses creative problem-solving skills to solve technical or process-related problems.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service i.e., customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Sound judgment, excellent organization skills, and ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Computer Science, General Business, Psychology, Management, Philosophy, Marketing and at least three to five years of related experience (systems and/or HR systems), two plus years of experience/knowledge of Workday and/or HRMS systems preferred.
- Prior experience in higher education is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Work with customers to analyze Workday HCM system requirements and identify problems, gather requirements, research options, and recommend solutions.
- Works with users to determine needs, identify changes and enhancements
- Documents required system modifications
- Analyze data to inform problem
- Create user stories
- Document as-is and to-be process flows
- Identify gaps in operational business processes, as well as document business process improvements and flow diagrams
- Prepare detailed business requirements
- Work closely with business teams to strategize solutions that support short term and long-term business objectives
- Present and evaluate design solutions
- Communicate design to all stakeholders
2) Coordinate implementation of solutions
- Act as the liaison between Business, Developers and Project Managers
- Work closely with developers to ensure requirements and design are completely understood
- Document mapping requirements for interfaces with internal and 3rd party solutions
- Manage 3rd party vendors
- Develops and coordinates test plans, test scripts, facilitate and participates in User Acceptance Testing
- Ensure deliverables align with business requirements with measurable results and drive positive results
- May participate in the creation of training materials and the delivery of training
- Effectively resolves problems and roadblocks before they occur
- Mentors less experienced members of the team
- Participate and facilitate project meetings
- Perform ad-hoc project management activities
3) Provide support on application solutions
- Work with users to trouble shoot issues
- Coordinate with appropriate resources to resolve issues
- Update applicable documentation
- Communicate resolution to appropriate parties
