Head – Global LCM (Life Cycle Management) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading a team of Electro mechanical engineers, procurement personnel and quality engineers to manage the Product Life Cycle Management (LCM) of all our existing products. The team will be involved in Design Changes, Engineering Change Request Board, Obsolescence Management, End of Life (EoL) of components, re-design and / or use optimized manufacturing processes to optimize performance, cost and quality. The team will also be involved in evaluating new suppliers and vendors for supporting the overall LCM goal of the business.

This position is part of the Beckman team located in Bangalore Development Center (BDC), in Bangalore and will be onsite. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Will be responsible for setting up and sustaining the office and lab space at BDC, Bangalore
  • Collaborate with various Business Units (BU) and Engineering leaders / Program teams
  • Work with Quality team and procurement teams of various Business Units (BU) across the globe
  • Work with the leadership of Beckman Coulter in defining the overall roadmap of the Global LCM team. Work on prioritize, optimize and make this a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics and Danaher
  • Person will be responsible for ensuring Quality, Regulatory, EHS and other compliance metrics for the center
  • Will be responsible for hiring, retaining, engaging high performing team that caters to global life cycle management of BEC Dx products

The essential requirements of the job include:  

  • Healthcare or Medical device industry experience of at least 17 years. And leadership experience of 5+ years
  • Work with Global Hardware Leaders to strategize hiring. This involves defining the Job Description, Recruit strategy and building the team as soon as possible Setting up the Office, Lab with necessary certifications and approvals on a turnkey basis at BDC, Bangalore. Prior experience in working with global stake holders and managing the timelines and roadmap for the team
  • Initiating and onboarding new teams. Working with Hiring contractor companies and help screen resources and onboarding them
  • Nurture, retain, and manage a high-performing team that caters to all the BUs
  • Good knowledge of QMS and Medical Device Product Development and Life Cycle management
  • Ability to manage a large R&D lab that is used for Engineering LCM activities. Also oversee all Quality requirements for the lab.
  • Partner with quality and regulatory teams to ensure that the output meets regulatory and quality control requirement as needed.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Extensive Healthcare product development experience along with sustainment product management will be an added benefit.
  • Prior history of setting up or scaling up engineering teams for medical device products
  • Good knowledge of Lean
  • Prior work experience in product development for a regulated industry

This role expects the candidate to be in Onsite mode of working. Given this role expects people management, ability to connect with the team and motivate is a prime expectation. Further, with the expectation of setting up this facility for LCM being Onsite is imperative.
