How to contribute to our vision

The Grid Connection Engineer will perform the duties required to progress Projects through the complete cycle of regulatory processes as related to Grid Connection required anywhere in APAC region. The Grid Connection Engineer will work in conjunction with other SGRE technical support team members and the technical departments of the parent company, to ensure a

successful connection to the grid of the different windfarm projects.

  • Lead renewable energy projects through grid connection processes like Applications for Connection, Application for Registration and R2 Test.

  • Coordinate the power system studies to be done, including load flows, dynamic studies, grid stability, power quality, etc, and evaluate the results of this studies. In conjunction with SGRE Modelling & simulations team. 

  • Evaluation, calculation and revision of performance of technologies that ease grid integration (e.g. storage and FACTS). 

  • Negotiate with AEMO/TNSPs/DNSPs GPS and model requirements In Australia.

  • Negotiate with TSOs in other regions of APAC, with support from the local teams.

  • Provide technical inputs in regard to the topic of Grid Connection for Projects during the Tender, Construction/Commissioning and Operational phases. This would largely entail responding to regulatory  obligations, including developing and demonstrating compliance to Access Standards Ongoing interfacing with SGRE HQ to ensure consistency with SGRE processes, and to progress problem solving. 

  • Responsible contact for technical queries and discussion. Involved in internal discussions and problem solving meetings with Sales and Project execution/BoP departments and input for global technology.  

  • Responsible contact and contributor in technical discussions related with the connection to the grid with  customers and System operators/Network Providers. 

  • Support for renewable plant (including but not limited to reactive plants) logic development and specification. 

  • Participation as the technical expert in the technical discussions with the customer during the negotiation of new projects. 

  • Wind farm model development and tuning (PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory).

  • Grid connection capacity and early feasibility assessments.

  • Grid connection package preparation including all required project reports (R0, R1 and R2).

  • Negotiation of Generator Performance Standards with AEMO/TSO.

  • Support for AEMO/NSP during connection package due-diligence.

  • Commissioning and hold point test planning/reporting.

  • Due diligence on eBoP/harmonic filter designs.
