Video Solutions teams in the R&D center in Krakow have been growing dynamically since 2019. Currently, we have more than 150 specialists on board working on solutions for fixed cameras, video analytics, video management systems as well as access control.
We bring advanced video and analytics capabilities to public safety and commercial customers including healthcare, airports, retail, critical infrastructure and public venues. Video is no longer reactive – looking back at what has taken place – but it also informs proactively, issuing alerts in real-time when a person, object or vehicle appears or a perimeter is crossed. This critical intelligence enables users to take the right action more quickly.

Job Description

 The Krakow Alta Video Team is looking for an experienced, self-driven Go developer to join our team working on a cloud-based Video Management System (VMS) that focuses on intrusion systems. Our project integrates with security devices such as cameras, sensors, and access control systems to provide comprehensive security solutions.

Our system includes a variety of interesting and technically challenging features that you will help to shape and enhance:

• Developing and optimizing cloud-native services for video streaming and security data management

• Designing and implementing backend systems to seamlessly integrate with various security devices

• Working with large volumes of data in a performant and reliable way

• Investigating and improving the performance and scalability of our system as new features are added

The role involves close collaboration with a global team of developers, testers and product managers. We are looking for a team player who enjoys solving complex problems and thrives working autonomously, while not afraid to ask for input and learn from their teammates when needed.

Basic Requirements

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

• Passion and experience with Go programming

• Experience in Postgres or other relational database systems

• Ability to design and implement backend services in a performance-critical environment

• Willingness to collaborate closely with colleagues in product management, UX, and frontend development to design and implement new functionalities

• Drive to improve and optimize our application in terms of performance, maintainability, and security, both proactively and based on customer feedback

• Strong understanding of network protocols (HTTP, TCP, UDP, IP etc.)

• Attitude of continuous learning and staying current with technological advancements, suggesting short-term and long-term improvements

• Proficiency in English

Optional Qualifications

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration

• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful and gRPC API design 

• Understanding of media streaming protocols and technologies

• Background in developing large-scale, distributed systems
