Your Role at Impact:
In this role, as business requirements dictate, you will be responsible for payroll processing and supporting functions to the existing payroll portfolios. This position will utilize your understanding of payroll legislation and regulations and your skills to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. It involves overseeing benefits administration, computing salaries, managing statutory submissions and disbursements, and preparing monthly payroll documentation.
What you'll do:
- Process payroll for multiple regions accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with tax authorities, retirement fund institutions, and statutory requirements for each Portfolio.
- Handle all aspects of payroll administration, including calculating salaries, employee benefits administration, processing employee deductions, and preparing payroll reports.
- Assist with statutory compliance requirements payments such as PAYE, NI, pension contributions, UIF, Health Care, Garnishees, and STATS SA, ensuring accurate and timely submission to relevant providers.
- Respond to payroll queries and provide professional payroll advice and support to employees.
- Perform checks on monthly reports, including payroll system errors, net variances, and comparisons between payroll and BambooHR systems.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues and provide resolution to employees and payroll vendors.
- Prepare payroll exception reports, business reports, and ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Payroll deductions and benefits should be reconciled in preparation for 3rd-party payments.
- Validate service provider invoices before requesting payments.
- Cross-functional coordination and reporting with our HR, Incentive Compensation, and Finance departments.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation compliant with general data protection regulations and other relevant legislation.
Does this sound like you?
- A minimum of two years of multi-state payroll experience in a medium to large organization.
- Ability to manage the end-to-end payroll function.
- Experience working for a global company or a group of companies is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the regulatory and legislative environment concerning payroll.
- Ramco payroll system experience is preferred
- Professional communication skills both written & verbal; reliable and responsive to email and phone communications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Sheets, with intermediate Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, conditional formatting, if-and formulas
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information
- Deadline-driven and able to work independently
Preferred Requirements:
- A National Certificate, Diploma, or Certification in Payroll administration or qualification in Finance, Human Resources and Accounting.
- Three to five years of experience in payroll processing and administration, preferably in a global company, within a medium to large organisation.
- Experience with Payroll software systems.
- Advance Excel skills,in reporting, pivot tables and use of formulas.
- Tax knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation.
