The Global Head of Learning and Development is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning and development strategies that drive organizational growth and employee excellence across NTT DATA, Inc.
Leading a team of learning professionals, this role involves aligning learning initiatives with the company's strategic goals, cultivating a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring that training programs cater to diverse learning styles and preferences.
The Global Head of Learning and Development collaborates closely with business / team stakeholders to identify skill gaps, develop impactful training solutions, and measure the effectiveness of learning programs through data-driven insights while fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on operational excellence.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes a strategic learning and development plan aligned with the organization's business objectives and long-term goals.
  • Leads and manages a team of learning professionals, including trainers, instructional designers, coordinators, and administrators.
  • Oversees the design and development of training programs that cater to various employee needs, from onboarding to leadership development.
  • Sets direction on delivery of training programs using a mix of methodologies, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning.
  • Collaborates closely with business / team stakeholders to identify training needs and align learning initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Manages learning needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements across different job roles and departments.
  • Oversees implementation of metrics and measurement systems to track the effectiveness and impact of learning programs.
  • Manages the learning and development budget, allocate resources effectively, and ensure optimal return on investment.
  • Leads change management efforts related to new learning technologies, methodologies, or organizational shifts.
  • Stays informed about learning technologies and leverage them to enhance training delivery and engagement.
  • Stays current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging concepts in learning and development.
  • Manages relationships with external partners, vendors, and training providers to enhance the organization's learning offerings.

Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Substantial understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies, and training best practices.
  • Substantial understanding of the organization's goals, objectives, and how learning and development initiatives align with overall business strategies.
  • Excellent ability to stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in learning and development.
  • Excellent ability to analyse training data to measure the effectiveness of programs and make data-driven decisions.
  • Substantial understanding of budgeting and resource allocation for learning and development initiatives.
  • Excellent ability to develop and execute a strategic learning and development plan that aligns with the organization's objectives.
  • Substantial interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with senior leadership/management and employees.
  • Substantial skills to lead, inspire, and mentor a team of learning professionals to achieve outstanding results.
  • Substantial ability to design and deliver engaging and impactful training programs and to guide the organization through change by effectively communicating the value of learning initiatives.
  • Ability to negotiate resources, gain buy-in from stakeholders, and influence decision-making.
  • Willingness to explore and adopt new technologies, methodologies, and trends to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Determination to achieve measurable outcomes in terms of employee development and organizational growth.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources / Learning and Development or a related field.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA qualification is highly desirable.

Required Experience:

  • Substantial demonstrated experience in designing and implementing strategic learning and development plans that align with business goals.
  • Substantial experience in managing and leading large teams or departments in a similar role.
  • Substantial demonstrated experience in designing and delivering various types of training programs, including leadership development, technical skills, soft skills, and more.
  • Substantial experience in using data and analytics to measure training effectiveness, identify trends, and make informed decisions about learning strategies.
  • Substantial demonstrated experience managing learning and development initiatives across diverse geographic locations, considering cultural nuances and global requirements.
  • Substantial demonstrated experience in managing budgets and allocating resources.
