About the Role
This position will act as a proactive business partner to the Global Commercial Finance Director, VP, Global Direct to Consumer and VP, Global Revenue Performance to drive profitable growth across the channels and markets .
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
Enable Regions and Markets to focus on profitable growth
- Deliver standardized reporting packages and dashboards to enable markets and regions to focus on execution and results.
- Provide insights and analysis to local market and regional leaders to optimize decision-making and performance outcomes.
- Drive process efficiencies to ensure markets and regions can focus on implementation instead of reporting or analysis tasks.
- Act as a central resource by supporting regional teams with ad-hoc analyses, standard frameworks, and tools.
Strategic Financial Insights & Decision Support for direct and indirect channels
- Collaborate with functional and operational stakeholders to identify and understand core business drivers.
- Conduct detailed financial modelling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing to support strategic initiatives and assess key performance metrics.
- Develop actionable insights to drive business performance, improve financial metrics, and inform decision-making.
- Build and maintain rolling financial forecasts to provide accurate and timely financial outlooks.
- Own and manage strategic financial risk assessments and provide mitigation insights.
- Deliver recommendations and decision-support analysis to executive leadership based on data-driven insights.
Channel Governance & Center of Excellence (COE)
- Partner with the executive team to establish and implement financial guardrails for across channels, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Collaborate with global, regional, and group finance teams to improve the quality, accuracy, and consistency of channel profit and loss reporting (P&L).
- Enhance existing cost allocation methodologies for channel-related expenses and resolve accounting inconsistencies across similar expense categories.
- Build and refine FP&A expertise and cross-channel tools, leveraging automation and business intelligence (BI) platforms.
Financial Leadership
- Drive profitable growth by providing strategic financial insights to business leaders.
- Coordinate the budget and forecast process with a focus on profitability.
Reporting and Analyses
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and analyses based on business needs, providing accurate and timely financial recommendations.
- Ensure clear and transparent reporting on investments and performance.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in Financial Analysis and Reporting, ideally in Sales or Brand Finance co-piloting roles.
- Experience in Financial Forecasting and deviation analyses including business interpretation.
- Very good understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet under local GAAP and IFRS.
- Solid understanding of the month-close process and how it impacts the P&L and B/S.
- Experienced in working in a multi-functional environment.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance & accounting.
- Strong Excel skills, experience with SAP, Hyperion, or Onestream system (or any other reporting/forecasting platform).
Critical Skills
- Excellent financial leadership skills.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of hierarchy with multifunctional partners and external stakeholders (English skills mandatory).
- High level of mental agility – being able to ‘connect the dots’.
Professional Experience
- Strong career progress to date in Accounting, Business, or Finance in a multinational organization, ideally with an FMCG grounding.
- Previous responsibility of P&L delivery and sales with a strong grasp of the retail landscape (including trade terms and promotions).
- An effective and credible thought partner - commercially minded with a good grasp of key financial drivers and strong contract management skills.
- Professional accounting qualification is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Ability to navigate financial and non-financial data gathering and analytics
