About the Opportunity
The Global Expansion Intern will work in a Sales Team environment in support of Driscoll’s Mission, Vision, and Values as the Fresh Berry Category Leader. The Global Expansion Intern will answer phone calls and provide extraordinary customer service for our internal and external customers. They will assist in organizing and implementing the short-term daily activities to achieve an orderly sales, accounting, marketing, distribution process and provide special projects coordination. The Global Expansion Intern will gain valuable knowledge of the Retail Industry, from grower perspective and the entire operation of distribution channels. ***This on-site internship in Watsonville, CA, runs from May/June to August/September , with some flexibility in timing. No housing stipend available for this role***
Responsibilities
- • Performs effective customer service practices for our internal and external customers.
- • Answers phone calls and processes them accordingly within Sales Group.
- • Inputs sales order and verify shipping process.
- • Communicates pricing information to appropriate Customers with guidance from Sales Rep.
- • Works with sales staff to facilitate accounts receivables process.
- • Collaborate on the implementation of the special projects the department is running.
- • Job shadows with other departments.
- • Ensures Driscoll’s confidential and proprietary information and materials.
- • Represents Driscoll's in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers, and the business community at large.
- • Maintains a safe and professional-looking work area.
- • Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.
Candidate Profile
- • Be currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university.
- • Strong organizational and planning skills.
- • Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
- • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a fast paced continuously changing environment.
- • Some experience in utilizing information technologies, which include Microsoft Word & Excel.
- • Dependable and reliable with solid Interpersonal relations skill set.
- • Willingness to learn.
- • Be attentive to details and have high observation skills.
- • Process oriented.
- • California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program.
Compensation
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
The hourly range estimated for this internship is: Freshman Junior to recent grad (Bachelor's level within 6 months of graduation): $18-$22
