About This Role:
Biogen is seeking a diligent General Ledger and Accounts Receivable Analyst to oversee and execute financial operations for our LATAM Affiliates. In this vital role, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting activities, including cash and treasury reconciliations, accounts receivable transactions, and the oversight of fixed asset activities, payroll, prepayments, and accruals. Your expertise will contribute to the accurate and timely reporting of all financial information, such as Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and other essential reporting packages. As an integral member of our finance team, you will ensure financial integrity and provide insights that aid in strategic decision-making, supporting Biogen's commitment to excellence and innovation in biotechnology.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct thorough accounts receivable operations, including manual receipts and invoice/credit/debit memo postings, primarily for LATAM/U.S. Corporate Accounting.
- Calculate and post journal entries with precision and attention to detail.
- Provide detailed reporting of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets, and various schedules, including running Project Accounting reports.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain accuracy and clarity in financial statements.
- Supply data and explanations for both internal and external auditors as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations and reporting.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize accounting processes.
- Perform additional duties and adapt responsibilities as business needs evolve.

This role is in hybrid work model. Please note that this role requires a candidate to be a holder of work permit & residency in Poland.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- University degree in Finance, with a preference for a specialization in Accountancy.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Relevant additional qualifications in accounting (ACCA/CIMA exams preferred, or equivalent national certification).
- At least 2+ years of experience in international accounting.
- Proven experience in a Shared Services Centre/Business Process Outsourcing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in transferring processes, with a focus on Poland.
- Comprehensive understanding of various Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Credit Memo/Fixed Asset processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office package, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Familiarity with Oracle R12 will be considered a strong asset.
- Proven track record of contributing to continuous improvement in financial processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Oracle R12.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage process improvement projects.
- Advanced certification or continuing education in accounting or related fields.
