Our Finance Shared Service Center is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to reinforce our Belgian GL team, reporting to the Head of Shared Service Center.Your responsibilities

Ensure all the accounting transactions are recorded timely and accurately with a high standard of supporting documentation.

Review the accounting entries performed by other team members (AP, AR, Bank) and performs accounting entries such as accruals, deferrals and reclassifications as needed.

Responsible for internal reporting and for the annual audited financial statements.

Perform analyses regarding the Balance Sheet, including explanations and documentation.

Ensure that the accounting and tax documentation is updated and maintains the traceability.

Responsible for external audits.
-
Responsible for VAT declarations and VAT controls.

Capable of managing the month end close activities independently.

Includes adhoc duties as necessary.
Your profile
-
Degree in accountancy or economics.
-
A first relevant experience in an audit, accountancy firm and/or accounting department.

Experience within a SSC is a plus.

Knowledge of Corporate Income Tax & VAT.

Fluent in Dutch and English.

Communicative, flexible, not afraid to take initiatives.

Proactive, a team-player and able to work independently.

Experience in an ERP system is a plus.

Actively participate and support of the improving accounting process into the ERP.

Able to coordinate all activities performed by general ledger team, meeting all deadlines.

Advanced MS Excel.
