Job Description
Join our Finance and Accounting team as a GL Accountant, where you'll play a key role in financial analysis and reporting for our EMEA business area. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll drive month-end closures, ensure accurate reporting, and collaborate with the finance community to implement best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely group reporting.
- Enhance financial processes through standardisation and automation.
- Collaborate with EMEA finance teams to implement shared services and best practices.
- Manage local vs. IFRS reporting differences, prepare variance analyses, and ensure accurate accruals.
- Prepare and coordinate requests for both internal and external audits.
- Drive the preparation and filing of statutory accounts, working directly with auditors and stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Support the Finance Manager in handling transfer pricing documentation and statutory/tax obligations.
- Provide adhoc financial analyses and support the business controlling teams on balance sheet insights.
Qualifications
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with a solid background in tax and audit processes in a similar role within an international environment.
- Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
- Proficient in ERP software, we use IFS.
- Excellent analytical skills with hands-on financial expertise.
- Organised, adaptable and capable of balancing multiple tasks.
- Able to see the bigger picture while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluent in English, with a working knowledge of Dutch being a strong asset.
