Position Summary

The GirlGov Program Manager is responsible for the strategic direction of all education-based programs. This includes leading, planning and implementation of the GirlGov program, summer camp programs, community engagement activities, supporting fundraising efforts, and any additional communications and/or initiatives.
Path to Program Director: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual for the Program Manager position. This role presents a valuable opportunity for professional development within our organization, with potential for advancement to Program Director within 6-9 months for high-performing individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and program management expertise.
 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Strategically evaluate all WGF education-based program offerings and suggest changes and improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness and alignment with WGF mission and goals.
  2. Oversee all aspects of GirlGov, a year-round leadership development program for high school teens and Middle School participants. 
  3. Design, plan, and implement comprehensive and engaging curriculums for year-round GirlGov programs, an annual educational trip to Harrisburg, service trips, and any additional programs offered throughout the year.
  4. Work with the CEO to develop a plan for franchise expansion.
  5. Recruit, train and manage Program Associates, interns.
  6. Develop and deliver workshops, educational programs, social outings, and other activities for GirlGov participants throughout the year; ensure that all participants (teens, parents, partners, etc.) are fully informed of event details.
  7. Collect and provide appropriate data to leadership for successful execution of annual grant reporting. 
  8. Serve as the main point of contact for organizations with whom we conduct educational programs. 
  9. In collaboration with Operations Director, develop job descriptions and manage recruitment processes for GirlGov staff.
  10. Engage in outside multi-partnered events and represent GirlGov on behalf of WGF.
  11. Support the CEO in fundraising efforts, business development efforts, chapter expansion, related to GirlGov.
  12. Collaborate as needed on grant proposals and reports for programmatic grants for GirlGov program.
  13. Support CEO with programmatic content, as needed, for all organizational grant writing and reporting purposes.
  14. Cultivate, maintain, and sustain relationships with institutional and major donors that support the program.
  15. Draft quarterly reports on programs to be submitted for the quarterly board packets.
  16. Develop curriculum, budget, and staffing model for GirlGov Summer Leadership Academy (when applicable).
  17. Serve as strategic thought partner with the CEO on future direction and expansion opportunities for the program.

  • Able to relate to and discuss the needs and challenges of teens, low-income communities, gender norms, and racial stereotypes.
  • Possess time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively and professionally relay information to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain a high degree of privacy and confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Verbal/written fluency in another language is a plus.

Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in civic engagement and/or youth programs required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required; 2 years preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field required.
  • Demonstrated related experience may substitute for preferred education.
  • Full security clearances as required by law when working with minors.

Salary Range: 48,000-55,000
