Are you our next General Manager?

The General Manager will manage the establishment and execution of strategic initiatives to improve the site's environmental, health, safety, production, quality and financial performance. Out GM is responsible for leading the hourly and salaried operations and continuous improvement organizations within the facility to retain and grow organizational talent, and foster a productive, safe and professional work environment. Must understand the competitive environment of the business and identifies opportunities and possible risks to the business strategy and develops plans and mitigating actions. Must be capable of adapting quickly to short-term market needs while balancing long-term strategic priorities.

What will you do?

  • Capable of leading cross functional teams and creating alignment between commercial, engineering, operations, maintenance, and EHS functions with the Minerals and Concentrates organizations.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and resources to departments to develop operational controls and problem solve around issues that arise.
  • Ensure medium-term production/quality safety and environmental results that align with business plans and that standards/goals are fully accomplished. This includes the ability to manage all aspects of an operational and capital budgets (accruals, forecasting, cost management).
  • Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards. Manage performance issues when necessary.
  • Develop and coach employees in order to retain and grow organizational talent and support employees in their career development at Mosaic.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with a major in Engineering Discipline
  • 10+ years of Operations experience required.
  • Must have underground mining experience, leading union workforce facilities.
  • Progressive leadership experience within mining, managing both salaried and union employees across cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience promoting both safety and continuous improvement
  • Strong business acumen in managing operating budget, capital projects, and developing overall business strategy.
