Job Description

Rixos Baghdad is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to open our luxury hotel operations in Baghdad, Iraq. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's performance, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving business growth in this dynamic market.

  • Pre-opening of the hotel
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize hotel performance and profitability
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of department heads and staff to deliver world-class service
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures
  • Drive revenue optimization through effective pricing strategies and market positioning
  • Ensure compliance with Rixos brand standards and local regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, corporate leadership, and local authorities
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of guest satisfaction
  • Identify and capitalize on business opportunities to enhance the hotel's market position
  • Manage crisis situations and implement effective risk management strategies
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in luxury hotel management, with a proven track record in general management roles
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and revenue optimization
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and execution within the hospitality industry
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems and technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisive decisions
  • In-depth knowledge of the luxury hospitality industry and current market trends
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of the Middle Eastern market
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is highly advantageous
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence
