Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Temporary Front-End Web Developer is to develop and provide overall technical solutions and rich user experiences leveraging platforms such as Shopify. This person is expected to actively participate in various stages of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
This is a remote temporary assignment available through March 2025, open exclusively to candidates based in California.

What You'll Do:

  • Help implement new features and maintain existing features using react/remix
  • Work within a team to develop new features based on Figma design comps
  • Ensure optimal use of best practices, semantic front-end markup, structured stylesheets, and efficient JavaScript
  • Prepare front-end templates to provide progressive enhancement for modern browsers, and graceful degradation for older browsers
  • Troubleshoot any front-end technical or performance issues that may arise
  • Work through maintenance backlogs and resolve bugs
  • Other duties may be assigned



Bring It!

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in e-commerce web development
  • 1+ years' experience with Shopify e-commerce headless themes and apps
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with React
  • Excellent understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3+, Tailwind CSS is a big plus
  • Proficient understanding of JavaScript frameworks, Remix is a big plus
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Knowledge of SEO and ADA best practices
  • Experience developing in local environments using Docker
  • Working knowledge of GitHub for version control and Jira for ticket management
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to collaborate with designers and other developers to build e-commerce website features
