Role Overview
The Cominfo Controller will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial support and business partnering for the Zlin-based business. The role will need to both stabilise the finance organisation after a period of management change and deliver several strategic initiatives, including implementation of the Group’s standard ERP system.
The business partnering elements of the role will focus on challenging the sales team to drive revenue & profitability and close liaison with the operations team around manufacturing. Core finance responsibilities will revolve around ensuring proper recording and analysis of transactions, P&L and margin analysis, budgeting, forecasting (and associated variance analysis), compliance (tax, legal & statutory), and financial reporting to Group requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Office team to ensure financial goals and processes are met, while also identifying opportunities for system and process improvements that can enhance the efficiency of the finance team.
The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running to stabilise the finance team after a period of upheaval and change and then support delivery of key strategic initiatives such as the ERP deployment whilst also ensuring “business as usual” activities continue to be delivered on time and to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial business partnering support to Sales, Operations and GEC leadership teams, working closely with the Plant Controller.
- Leading the accounting team of 3 people to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and analysed in the company’s ERP system.
- Ensure an effective internal control environment is in place across the business.
- Conduct detailed P&L analysis, variance analysis (AvB), and margin analysis, highlighting key drivers of historic financial performance and issues which could impact on future performance.
- Advise on financial performance and contribute to decision-making processes to support operational and strategic goals.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the business, including setting financial targets and KPIs.
- Prepare and update regular forecasts to ensure alignment with business objectives, adjusting for any market or operational changes.
- Manage regional cash flow forecasting, ensuring liquidity and financial stability.
- Provide insights on cash flow management, identifying risks and opportunities related to working capital and cash position.
- Facilitate regular supplier payments and oversee the collection of customer debts, working to resolve queries and escalate delayed payments.
- Monitor and analyse inventory, ensuring slow moving stock is followed-up and, if ultimately necessary, adequately provided for.
- Ensure compliance with local tax, audit, and financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure accurate tax filings.
- Ensure all statutory and in-country financial filings and reports are timely and accurate.
- Evaluate current financial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide functional and business leadership to the Cominfo team in the preparation for and transition to the Groups D365 ERP system, ensuring appropriate business ownership of the resulting system. Ensuring as part of the preparatory stage that all associated Masterfile data is complete and accurate prior to transition.
- Advise on potential system upgrades or process changes and support the implementation of these improvements within the finance team.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years’ experience in accounting or finance, operating in a multi-national company.
- Significant experience of accounting for manufacturing operations, as well as domestic & international sales and distribution.
- Proven experience in P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with in-country tax, legal and compliance requirements in Czech Republic.
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices within the manufacturing sector (IFRS)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP and group consolidation systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, K2, Cognos).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive and results-oriented approach with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
- Fluency in English and Czech is required.
- Strong communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the business.
