Job Summary:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be part of a Volaris Group Portfolio of businesses, reporting directly to the Group VP, Finance. The Financial Analyst’s responsibilities will include detailed review and analysis of the group’s financial and management reporting, ensuring compliance to corporate standards and processes, acquisition support as well as onboarding and ongoing training of group companies’ finance resources.
The perfect candidate will have a solid grounding in accounting, finance and general business concepts, with superior analytical skills, a strong work ethic and great interpersonal skills.
This position is fully remote but requires collaboration with colleagues in Europe, therefore there workday will be based on east coast hours.
Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Detailed analysis of financial and management reporting of individual portfolio companies with a focus on key operating ratios to identify issues and opportunities for operational improvements;
- Analysis of business performance, provide trend analysis and develop/improve corporate reporting;
- Review and quality assurance of month end and quarter end close deliveries;
- Work with portfolio companies’ finance teams to continue to improve efficiencies related to the financial close process;
- Review and audit monthly account reconciliations and risk control matrices, as part of Risk Management objective
- Set up and training of acquired portfolio companies’ finance teams on application of Volaris processes and systems;
- Integration of acquired companies into corporate systems and processes;
Qualification and skills:
- Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred
- 3-5 years finance and accounting experience, with experience in a technology-based environment being an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is required, as are excellent analytical and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications under IFRS or US GAAP.
- Experience working with Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics, Onestream, and BPC consolidation software is an asset
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on time management to effectively meet timelines
- Self-driven and motivated
- Some international travel may be required
