JOB DESCRIPTION:
CNA is seeking a Financial Analysis Consultant to join the FP&A Reporting & Consolidation team. The Reporting & Consolidation team is a key finance partner to the CFO, delivering P&L insights, quarterly forecasts, and Board materials. Additionally, this role will optimize and streamline reporting, enhance our Plan & Forecast model in Adaptive Planning, lead special projects, and be a key player in the oversight of financial forecasts and plans.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, agile team-player that possesses a strong analytical toolset. You will have a passion for difficult challenges and a willingness to rapidly iterate, working with cross-functional teams to drive meaningful impact to the business. To be successful, you must have strong communication skills and experience presenting to senior leadership.
This hybrid role is located in Chicago, IL.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial results packages. Independently build out ad hoc reporting, identify anomalies & trends and perform necessary analysis
- Work with cross functional departments to determine the best approach for Plan & Forecast model. Develop and enhance models in Adaptive Planning
- Manage multiple constituents and requests to build relationships and deliver maximum value to the organization
- Extract or summarize key insights. Clearly and concisely communicate insights with actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- Serve as a key business partner to various stakeholders to deliver timely analytical reports and assist with measurement of operational efficiency
- Evaluate internal performance against Company peers, analyst estimates, and key external benchmarks
- Drive process improvement and automation
- Participate in special projects with meaningful contributions
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of corporate and departmental accounting/finance practices, procedures and principles as well as solid knowledge of an insurance organization and industry
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, statutory and other complex accounting principles, practices and procedures which may include technical expertise in a functional area
- Thorough knowledge of an organization's systems with the ability to modify or develop new systems
- Advanced modeling skills including advanced Excel skills
- Possesses experience and demonstrates agility in leveraging technology tools for nimble financial modeling and scenario analysis. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Workday, Adaptive Insights, Thoughtspot, and Looker a plus.
- Strong presentation and communication skills
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or business, or equivalent; Master's degree preferred
- Typically 5 to 7 years of finance experience or a related analytical field

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
