The Financial Advisor II assembles, reviews, and distributes monthly financial statements to Company owned distributors; also analyzes and consults on the meaning and significance of financial statements.
This role requires an understanding of financial statements, an analytical mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate with both operations and finance teams.
Job Components:

Prepare monthly financial statements (60%)

Assemble and analyze the monthly financial statements for Company owned distributors in an accurate and timely manner.

Closely analyze financial statements for accuracy prior to submitting for review

Report and monitor financial results of Company owned operations to local management

Perform detailed variance analysis against prior year and annual operating plan (AOP).

Provide Distributors with feedback regarding the significant elements of the financial statements in order to enable the Distributors to make informed management decisions (i.e. improve profitability)

Provide financial insights to Operations Finance Team

Provide internal customers (i.e. Interstate Ops, Credit Department, Distributor Development) with pertinent financial information about Company owned distributorships.

Synthesize and communicate results upward to the Accounting Manager and Operations Finance Team.

Participate in special projects to improve the processes and procedures of the Department (i.e. Continuous Improvement, Process Mapping, Consistency, System Issues).
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or 5 years of related Accounting experience
-
A minimum of one year of Financial Reporting experience (Income Statements, Financial Statements, etc.)

A minimum of 2 years general accounting/bookkeeping experience preferably in distribution industry

Strong personal computer skills including experience with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

SAP general ledger experience helpful

Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently but capable of working in a team environment as well.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, telephone, explanation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Well organized, high degree of accuracy and very detail oriented.

Ability to manage multiple tasks on a regular basis, accustomed to tight deadlines and able to juggle multiple projects

Ability to use best practices and learn from others.
Scope Data:

Daily interaction with Advisors and Accounting Manager

Daily accountability for meeting report production requirements

Daily interaction with assigned Distributors

Periodic interaction with Sr Manager, Operations Finance, as needed

Periodic interaction with internal Interstate Batteries customers (i.e. Distributor Development, Credit), as needed

Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
