About the Team:

At Aspire, Finance plays a strategic role in driving our business forward. Our Finance team consists of a wide range of crucial functions across 5 verticals: (i) Financial Controlling with Financial reporting, Audit support, Cost Management, Compliance and Risk Management and Tax planning, Reporting, (ii) Treasury, which is a core function for a Fintech with Cash flow and Liquidity Risk, Treasury Product, FX Risk Management, Treasury Operation and Treasury Risk Management, (iii) Data including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Engineering, (iv) Strategy & Planning, which covers strategic road map, long term planning, fundraising and FP&A and (v) Credit Risk including risk modelling and scoring, portfolio monitoring and credit control. Our Finance team engages in frequent strategic data analysis, research, and modeling to provide the best financial insights for critical business decisions, helping Aspire navigate the competitive landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The team also plays a key part as the first user of our Aspire software, pioneer in Finance transformation, reengineering our internal process to stay agile while maintaining the internal control in a hyper fast growing environment.

About the Role

The Finance Director is a key leadership role within our Indonesian operations, responsible for the overall financial health and strategic direction of our two subsidiaries. This role will oversee core finance functions, including accounting and treasury, while ensuring strong coordination and alignment with Group functions for tax, data analysis, FP&A, and treasury. The Finance Director will directly manage a team of finance professionals and work closely with the Group CFO, subsidiary leadership teams, and relevant Group functions to ensure alignment with the overall business strategy. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Financial Management & Reporting: 

  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with Indonesian accounting standards (PSAK) and Group reporting requirements.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insightful reports to senior management and the Group CFO.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts, working closely with Group FP&A to provide accurate financial projections.
  • Manage relationships with local auditors, ensuring timely and efficient completion of audits.

Tax Planning & Compliance:

  • Oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for both subsidiaries, together with the Group tax function
  • Stay abreast of changes in Indonesian tax legislation and ensure the company's tax position is optimized.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.

Treasury Management:

  • Manage day-to-day treasury operations for the subsidiaries, including cash flow forecasting and bank relationship management.
  • Coordinate with Group Treasury on foreign exchange risk management, funding requirements, and investment strategies.

Collaboration with Group Functions:

  • Data & FP&A: Collaborate with the Group Data & FP&A teams to leverage data analytics and financial modeling for informed decision-making. Contribute local insights and data to support Group-level analysis and reporting. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.
  • Financial Controlling: Partner with Group Financial Controlling to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures, and support internal and external audit processes.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including subsidiary leadership teams, Group finance functions, and other relevant departments.
  • Effectively communicate financial information and insights to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance /Accounting and Certified Public Accountant. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA Indonesia) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian accounting standards (PSAK) and tax regulations.
  • Experience in Financial Services, Fintech and Credit businesses, as well as working experience in an international organisation is a strong plus
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, consolidation and understanding of IFRS
  • Experience managing relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven team player, hands on and ability to work independently while managing multiple projects/assignments
