Your Role in Our Story:
The Finance Director Growth & Sustainability is a key member of the central senior management team, reporting to the CFO of ACT Group and with a strong connection to the CSO (operating primarily from within the CSO management team).
In this role you will work side by side with the Executive providing key input into the development and delivery of the business strategy, as well as actively participating in its day-to-day management. This dedicated finance leader will lead the successful financial set up of the recently established Growth directorate and related activity in its underlying business units.
The Growth & Sustainability directorate is accountable for all M&A activity, Sustainability, R&D, Energy Efficiency and Primary Asset within the ACT Group. Hence this person will also be the inhouse expert on structured finance and finance in projects and will financially lead group transactions and provide contract advice on behalf of the Leadership Team, as well as ensuring, on a day-to-day basis, the management of finance staff (4 FTE currently).
In essence, your role involves:
- Accountable for ensuring the optimal stability and success of the directorate’s finances & risk, now and in the future. Financially accountable with the business for the end-to-end value-cash-risk delivery.
- Direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, risk management, strategic planning, full cycle M&A and/or investment experience (so beyond just 'FDD' or 'CDD') and negotiations, partnership compliance.
- Represent the finance function in the management team. With this accountability, the finance lead is being held accountable for performance (and its analysis), but is also accountable for consistent and timely delivery.
- Oversee and lead your Finance team and supporting full integration into the IT business management system and technology improvement projects, championing digitization, one source of truth and real time data.
- Default owner of the execution of all Finance process activities, make sure compliance with lines set by Specialists, and company data requirements (incl Audit, authorities etc)
- Providing timely and accurate analysis of consolidated budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Overall responsibility for annual audit and legislative compliance along with Group governance and/ or compliance reporting.
Your Expertise:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Record of success and achievement in a senior finance leadership role.
- A professional with Finance BSc/MSc and/or MBA.
- Ability to both operate at a strategic and operational level ideally in a fast paced, ambiguous and demanding environment.
- Hands on
- Team leader: proven skills to develop capacity and capability in the organisation, specifically on Structured Finance
- A proven value-risk-cash thinker.
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
