Job Description: Field Manager – Cabinet Installations
Summary
Oversee the pre-installation readiness, installation, and completion of cabinet installation projects. The Field Manager will ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards, meeting builder and customer expectations. This role involves coordinating with contractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring installations meet safety and quality requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
Level I:
- Clean driving record and valid license.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of systems, applications, and handheld devices or tablets.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
- Proficiency in basic math to calculate measurements and quantities such as percentages, linear feet, square footage, and area.
- Ability to read and comprehend builder plans, communications, training materials, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
- Strong written communication skills for routine reports and correspondence.
- 1 year of relevant experience in cabinet installations or construction.
Level II:
- All qualifications from Level I plus:
- Proven experience leading a team or crew in a construction environment.
- 4 years of experience with cabinet installations and knowledge of other related trades such as countertops and flooring.
Level III:
- All qualifications from Level II plus:
- 7 years of experience in cabinet installations with expertise in managing large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor new team members effectively.
Essential Functions
Level I:
- Shadow experienced Field Managers to learn the inspection process.
- Manage team members and oversee the cabinet installation process at job sites.
- Track and manage cabinet materials while ensuring quality installations and exceptional service for internal and external customers.
- Coordinate with independent contractors to meet builder timelines and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety and OSHA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Level II:
- All Level I functions plus:
- Oversee and manage the cabinet installation process, including inspections and quality control.
- Ensure accurate measurement and proper installation of cabinet materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Level III:
- All Level II functions plus:
- Train new Field Managers, providing progress updates to the Area Manager.
- Act as the company’s field expert in cabinet installations, supporting the Customer Service Department as needed.
- Ensure trainees meet or exceed quality assurance standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and stoop for 8+ hours.
- Minor lifting and carrying may be required.
Work Environment
- Work performed primarily at construction job sites with occasional office duties.
