As the Fabric Planner, you are responsible for strategically planning and managing fabric booking and allocation from mills. Your role will involve forecasting fabric requirements, coordinating with suppliers and our teams, and ensuring that quality, cost, and delivery targets are met. You will report into the Manager, Fabric Planning. You will manage communications between the planning team, sourcing team, vendors and mills.
About the Job
Fabric Requirement Forecasting:

Analyse production plans and demand forecasts to determine fabric needs.

Develop accurate fabric requirement plans aligned with seasonal production cycles.
Supplier Coordination and Communication:
-
Ensure capacity use with mills and fabric suppliers. Escalate any constraints promptly.

Collaborate with mills and fabric suppliers to secure quality materials.
Fabric Inventory Management:
-
Monitor fabric inventory levels to prevent excess stock or shortages.

Analyse appropriate safety cover based on fabric class.

Coordinate with vendors, mills and production teams to optimize fabric usage and minimise waste.

Track fabric inventory level at the vendors and mills
Fabric Production Planning:

Collaborate with production, design, and sourcing teams to align fabric orders with manufacturing schedules.

Monitor fabric in transit to ensure fabric delivery

Allocate fabric to respective vendors as per monthly production plan and priority. Escalate any constraints promptly.

Adjust plans in response to changes in demand or production issues.

Verify fabric flow against lead-times and monthly offered capacity

Accomplish de-coupled LT on products with fabric pre-booked to achieve CTC goal of LT reduction
Fabric Reporting:
-
Track fabric use among several planning programmes (MRP, Global, Power Core)

Ensure fabric is at vendors if greige date is in the past in production plan that indicate fabrics have been booked by vendors and PO issued to mills timely.

Reconcile the fabrics with next planning cycle, if griege date is in the past
-
Track Excess fabric (Liability), Report to GLL.
Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements in fabric planning and supplier management.

Implement best practices and contribute to overall supply chain efficiency enhancements.
Collaboration:

Work with resource planning, sourcing and PD teams to support seamless operations.

Foster relationships with both team members and external partners
About You:
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Textiles, Production, or any equivalent.
-
Over 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with 3–5 years specifically focused on raw material or fabric planning within the garment/apparel industry is good to have.

Hands-on experience working with mills, fabric suppliers, and trim vendors

Familiarity with production planning, including fabric allocation and booking

Exposure to global supply chains and multi-country sourcing environments

Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel or planning tools

Experience collaborating with teams—sourcing, product development, and manufacturing
-
Understanding of lead-time management and logistics coordination for raw materials
