We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Marketing Executive to join our team to support the development and delivery of the Africa Summit, a prestigious event uniting global leaders to discuss critical topics shaping Africa’s future. This role will play a pivotal part in the execution of marketing campaigns and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation and promotion of the event. You will also be responsible for supporting sponsors and managing day-to-day support for a wide variety of clients.
Collaborating with a dynamic team and engaging with stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in the success of one of FT Live’s flagship events. This role is perfect for someone who combines practical marketing skills with the ability to manage sponsorship deliverables seamlessly, ensuring both campaigns and commercial partnerships are executed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Marketing and Campaign Support:
- Work very closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to support with the execution and event promotion of the Africa Summit
- Collaborate closely with the wider marketing team to support with other administrative and organisational tasks
- Write, build and schedule emails for acquisition and retention campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and consistency with the event’s objectives
- Update and manage content on the event website, including logos, copy, images, and other essential details
- Create and update event collateral and creative assets such as brochures, social media tiles, and speaker materials, aligning with the event’s branding guidelines
- Assist in setting up and managing the networking app, ensuring a seamless user experience for attendees
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. design, operations, and commercial) to ensure deliverables are met on schedule
- Negotiate and manage media partnership agreements to maximise event exposure, ensuring timely delivery of agreed assets and tracking performance against partnership goals
Sponsorship Coordination and Fulfilment:
- Execute mutually agreed (between FT Live and sponsors) marketing deliverables
- Work closely with the commercial team to foster and maintain relationships with key clients
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to plan, build and execute sponsor marketing campaigns
- Liaise with sponsors to collect logos, bios, photos, and other required materials for marketing purposes
- Create and share sponsor promo registration links and social media tiles
- Monitor and manage sponsor registrations
- Share relevant data with sponsors throughout the campaign
- Supporting sponsors with any ad-hoc requests and questions in the lead up to, during and after the event
Post-Event Reporting:
- Assist with post-event communications, including thank you emails and feedback collection
- Support the marketing team with the collation of post-event data, including audience demographics and campaign performance metrics
- Share the post-event report and final data lists with sponsors
Required Skills / Experience
- At least 2-3 years of professional marketing / commercial / account management experience, ideally within the events background
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong planning, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in building and maintaining relationships across different seniority levels
- Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a “can-do” attitude
- Professional, resilient and adaptable to dynamic working environments
- An element of basic sales skills (negotiating, strong telephone manner, confident presenter)
