BigCommerce, named a 2023 "Best Place to Work" in several cities, is looking for an Enterprise Training Manager, Developer. This is a person who thrives at solving problems and has an insatiable urge to teach and learn. Well respected by technical and non-technical individuals, this person is an influential leader, coach, manager and engineer and will rely on strong consultative skills to help our Enterprise customers during onboarding and throughout the customer lifecycle.
What You Will Do

  • Use expert BigCommerce platform and third party application knowledge to customize and deliver high quality global developer training on the behalf of BigCommerce for Professional Services, Agency partners, and internal employees
  • Conduct detailed scoping calls with customers to understand their business objectives and functional requirements in order to provide expert recommendations for their personalized developer training needs
  • Work with external stakeholders including client partners, project managers, developers, technical partners and executives in Enterprise organizations
  • Managing training action plans with enterprise merchants, agency partners, Professional Services, and sales before, during, and after learning sessions
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders before, during and after learning sessions to ensure seamless communication, managing the scheduling and administration of the training
  • Achieve KPIs of client facing hours, satisfaction surveys returned, cases closed and more
  • Assist the Lead Developer Trainer to create and update coursework, including interactive developer lab activities and dynamic code appropriate for customer and partner developers building on BigCommerce
  • Act as a subject matter expert with external and internal technical training materials, staying updated on upcoming product changes and communicating necessary amendments and/or revisions, including scripting and storyboarding eLearning and video projects
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required


Who You Are

  • 4+ years combined experience in software development, Enterprise customer service, content creation, development, or technical training, direct experience building training content for developer certification courses is required
  • Experience training Software Developers, Software Engineers, Front-end/Back-end Developers, Solution Architects, Systems Engineers, Technical Leads, etc. is required
  • Formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology or a technical discipline (e.g., engineering) or equivalent required
  • Fluency and comfort in programming languages such Java, Node.JS, Angular, JSON, Ruby, Python, PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS; software developer experience is a strong plus
  • Understanding of the Stencil Framework and Handlebars programming language highly desirable
  • Experience in code deployment and in supporting tools like Github
  • Knowledge of BigCommerce API, RESTful APIs, and eCommerce
  • Familiar with the implementation of security standards in code such as OAuth, SAML, and other Tokenization and authentication methods and systems; understanding of security, SSO and federation technologies as applied cloud infrastructure
  • Passion for creating and delivering training content that utilizes cutting-edge adult learning theory methodologies and best practices
  • Willingness to travel globally
