Your Role
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing one of our key software development teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure continuous improvement of development experience in emnify engineering community along with build-up of shared development tooling and systems. You will lead a team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and autonomy. Within our current state of growth, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the direction of the platform architecture and the growth of the team. Our tech stack includes the following: Linux, Jenkins, Kubernetes (including relevant operational tooling), Docker, Opsgenie, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Services (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Step functions), Java, Groovy, Golang, Python, RDBMS (AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, MySQL), No-SQL databases (Dynamo DB), search engines (AWS OpenSearch). The position can be based in one of the office locations in Würzburg or Berlin or remotely in EU.
Your Impact
-Improvement of development experience in emnify engineering community along with build-up of shared development tooling and systems.
-Partnering with engineering and information security teams to embed and standardize security best practices in the software development lifecycle
-Serve as people manager for the team, leverage coaching and mentoring techniques.
-Support roadmap planning, monitor progress and ensure quality standards.
-Be a sparring partner for the team’s technical and architectural decisions. Bring in innovative ideas from the industry.
Your Skills
-Ability to engage engineering community, lead interviews with engineers and extract the real need that will have impact
-Experience in leading DevOps or tech tooling teams
-Experience with modern DevOps technologies (docker, terraform, jenkins, kubernetes, prometheus, grafana)
-Experience working with the AWS public cloud infrastructure See parent page for more details about this position.
-Familiarity with development portal tools, event-driven architectures, and Apache Kafka for modern, scalable software solutions.
-Track record in managing teams that are building systems with focus on high availability, disaster recovery.
-Experience and tack record of successful delivery in the area of DevOps practices, CI and Continuous Delivery.

-Experience working in the telecommunications industry, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of telco infrastructure deployments
-Experience with establishing and running on-call and incident management processes AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
-AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, or related certifications in infrastructure
