About the Role

Title: Engineer, Quality Engineering/SDET
Grade Level: 09

The Team

This team is at the heart of transforming raw datasets into high-value insights. Our product enables data teams & customers to link and analyze data from disparate sources, empowering better decisions and automation. As we scale our development efforts, we are seeking a QA Engineer who can help ensure the tool functions flawlessly and the data flows are accurate and reliable.

You’ll work closely with product managers, data engineers, and software developers to validate our data-linking algorithms, test automation pipelines, and guarantee the integrity of data delivery.

The Impact

As dedicated QA for the project, you will have the opportunity to shape the foundation of our quality assurance processes. You’ll influence how we validate outputs, prevent regressions, and ensure a high-quality experience for our end users. Your knowledge of data operations and ability to automate testing will directly impact our speed, accuracy, and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the QA process end-to-end: from test planning to execution to automation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Collaborate with data and product teams to understand expected behavior and data quality benchmarks.
  • Build validation scripts to test the accuracy of outputs in data linking workflows.
  • Develop test cases to simulate edge cases and real-world data irregularities.
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation is not yet feasible.
  • Identify, report, and track bugs, and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Help define and drive the adoption of best practices in test design, data validation, and automation.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements to reduce time-to-test and increase confidence in releases.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of experience in QA or data management roles
  • Thorough knowledge of data linking, entity resolution, or record matching techniques.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with data workflows, validation techniques, and SQL for verifying transformations.
  • Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time, under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Exposure to AI/ML based tools and data transformation projects.
  • Understanding of common data issues (e.g., duplication, missing values, inconsistent formats).
  • Ability to write scripts in Python or a similar language for test automation and data validation.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment with version control (e.g., Git).
  • Exposure to APIs and tools like Postman for integration testing is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for quality reporting.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for automated test execution.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP) and how they affect testing workflows.

What’s In It For You?

  • A chance to work on a cutting-edge data product solving complex challenges.
  • Autonomy to define and implement the QA process from the ground up.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineers, product leaders, and data experts.
  • Learning opportunities in modern data infrastructure, AI/ML workflows, and automation tooling.
  • A fast-paced and innovation-driven environment where your contributions have high visibility.
