Job Description:

The Role: 

The KSP on-site pad Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading the quality control of our polishing pad production process. This role is critical in ensuring process quality control and meet the requirements of our quality management system. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations, leading root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions for both internal and external quality issues.  

This position holds a pivotal role within our organization, as the quality of our products directly influences customer satisfaction and brand's competitiveness in the market. The effectiveness of quality control processes directly correlates with the competitiveness of our products, making this role essential to our business success. 

In this role you will: 

Process Control 

  • Establish, review and update SPC for in-coming raw materials, process intermediates, and final products. 

  • Identify testing, analyses, and inspections required to resolve product quality issues.  Train technicians and manufacturing associates on testing and inspection procedures. 

  • Perform process audits on an as needed basis to identify potential issues, verify the implementation of corrective actions, and document the effectiveness of existing systems. 

  • Develop product quality metrics that reflect performance against defined goals. 

  • Leading and coordinating with manufacturing and customer facing team (CFT) for non-conforming materials. 

  • Perform measurement system analysis (MSA) regularly for measurement tools. 

                                                 

Continuous Improvement Activities 

  • Conduct periodic review of processes to identify areas for improvement. 

  • Understand measurement capability and identify opportunities for improvement. 

  • Work closely with R&D, Production Engineering, suppliers and CFT to incorporate performance predictors into product specifications. 

  • Act as a change agent for defining and implementing process improvements. 

  • Participate with the product commercialization team to identify and resolve potential product quality issues early in design process. 

  • Automation of processes or tools to reduce human errors during production. 

      

Resolve Customer Complaints 

  • Support CFT to analyze customer complaints using available complaint database and related systems. 

  • Design of experiment for the analysis of customer issues by used pad analysis. 

  • Assure effective and timely responses to all customer quality related issues. 

  • Provide quality related product and service information as required. 

  • Supporting for customer on-site quality audits. 

  • Report and analyze complaint metrics. 

  • Assure effectiveness of complaint resolution system. 

 

Development and Implementation of Pad QC Processes 

  • Manage pad QC inspection activities and planning to meet the needs of the organization. 

  • Define and optimize the out-of-control action plan (OCAP) for abnormality occurrence during QC inspection and testing. 

  • Manage pad QC inspection processes including Safety, Health and Environmental performance. 

 

Traits we believe make a strong candidate: 

Technical - Knowledge of engineering and experience with manufacturing, quality systems, and systematic problem solving. Continuous improvement methods, problem solving techniques, process quality control, inspection, testing, sampling and basic statistical techniques. Experience in CMP/polishing pad is a plus.  

Business/ Managerial - Supervisory skills, problem solving skills; Flexibility for multi-task situations; Effective communications skills; interpersonal skills and organizational skills; Sense of urgency in satisfying internal and external customer needs; ability to communicate to personnel at all levels of the organization. 

Computer - Proficient skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; Experience in Microsoft Office applications & Power Applications, familiar with statistical software, e.g. JMP or Minitab. SAP and LIMS are a plus. 

Language - Fluent in Mandarin. Upper Intermediate in English.
