The salary range for this position is dependent on experience level ranging from
$78,000 to $97,000.00.
Job Summary
This position, in the Customer Programs and Products group, with guidance from their Supervisor or the Program & Product manager, coordinates initiatives for the development, implementation and operation of new and established program and product offerings for the Avangrid Networks companies. This position also prospects for and promotes the sale of energy and related products and services to acquire new residential and small commercial customers to meet or exceed Avangrid's growth and revenue objectives. This is accomplished through a comprehensive knowledge of customer needs, internal policies and procedures, programs and products this position supports and collaboration with internal stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility of this position is to promote the sale of energy related products and programs. This is accomplished through:
- Strong sales and prospecting activities to initiate and review product and program enrollment activity which may include lead generation efforts, technical project review, and cross-product or program referrals.
- Providing prospects with a comprehensive overview of the product and process and associated utility costs required to obtain the product.
- Timely and accurate follow-up on all inquiries.
- Referring prospects to various inventive and financing opportunities.
- Developing and providing savings estimates and contracts for customers and prospective customers..
- Performs quality assurance and technical review on program and product activity, ensuring compliance with minimum standards, program rules and contract specifications. Initiates and performs file reviews, on-site inspections and tracking system updates that include both project specific updates and systematic updates to adjust for changing business needs; testing and signing off on system changes.
- Provides excellent customer service throughout all phases of customer or prospective customer participation in programs and products with a comprehensive knowledge of energy technologies and equipment, utility rates, tariffs and policies and financing/incentive programs.
- Work collaboratively with key internal departments such as Engineering, Operations, Sales, Conservation and Load Management on a regular basis. Responsible for the identification and implementation of initiatives to optimize efficiency by employing a continuous process improvement methodology to reduce costs and increase revenue. Supports departmental financial activities through the development and monitoring of budget reports, creating and tracking of purchase requisitions/orders and invoices.
- Applies knowledge and skills to resolve a wide range of complex issues associated with program or product inquiries from customers, regulators or vendors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with lead sources such as engineers, builders, developers, realtors, trade allies, etc. to identify opportunities resulting in incremental energy consumption and revenue growth.
- Assumes a primary role in special assignments as directed by management to support the overall initiatives and goals of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 - 5 years sales, marketing, energy efficiency or customer service experience.
- Associate's Degree with 5 years sales, marketing, energy efficiency or customer service experience.
- Knowledge in the areas of utility related electric & gas technologies and end use customer equipment is required (i.e. utility and customer lighting, HVAC equipment, distributed generation, etc.)
- Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks while providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, sales platform, etc.)
- Attention to detail and proven analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to maximize effectiveness by use of time management, territory management, prioritization of work and effective utilization of all resources.
- Strong cross functional team skills and a desire to serve coworkers
- Ability to occasionally work evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of natural gas and/or electric utility (structure, market, department responsibilities, etc.) as well as tariffs & rates is preferred.
- Advanced sales training is preferred.
