QphoX is looking for an Electronics Engineer to join us in developing and building our quantum modem. In order to achieve our mission, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates with engineering skills and resourcefulness.

You will be involved in:

  • Designing, developing, and building supporting hardware for our microwave to optical transducers
  • Integrating photonics components and their control methods to our hardware products
  • Upgrading embedded hardware and working with Python scripts to interact with this hardware
  • Overall maintenance of our products
  • Managing projects and communicating results
  • Working in a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists

Skills and knowledge you will bring to QphoX:

  • BSc/MSc with at least 2 years of practical experience
  • Proven knowledge and experience using schematic capture and PCB design software like Altium
  • Experience working with photonic components such as lasers, modulators (EOM, AOM), photodiodes, polarizers, beamsplitters, etc
  • Programming with Python for data acquisition, measurement and/or analysis
  • Programming with C / C++ and/or embedded programming is a plus
  • Designing for manufacturing and design for testing knowledge
  • Simulation, design and debugging of analog and digital circuits
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, scientists and technicians with a wide range of expertise
  • Good organizational and planning skills to achieve set goals on time
  • Capacity to learn new tools and techniques

Supplementary skills set:

  • Experience with analog and digital converters, amplifiers, passive/active filtering, frequency mixing, and low noise design techniques
  • Understanding of microwave engineering principles
  • Working knowledge of control systems and signal processing
  • Experience designing hardware for scalability and robustness
  • Strong background in particularly (but not limited to) sectors such as photonics, mechatronics, telecommunications or robotics.
