Location Type: This role is onsite at our headquarters in Holland, MI.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Trainer/Instructor for JR Automation specializing in, but not limited to Safety and Sustainability Training. 

  • Actively manages all aspects of JR Automation’s Safety Learning Management System.  

  • Ensures accurate and complete safety training recordkeeping of safety training is kept, as detailed as needed, and up to date. 

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to develop, improve, and implement training as needed.  

  • Uses the latest adult learning best practices to deliver training that can be received, understood, implemented, and retained. 

  • Assess training needs for new and existing employees, including remedial. 

  • Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps and ensure compliance with professional standards, requirements of business, and industry and regulatory bodies. 

  • Maintain, develop and improve high hazard industry training. (Crane, Rigging, Forklift, Aerial, Fall Protection, Haz Energy, Electrical) 

  • Positions themselves to be a strategic partner in the company. 

  • Be the subject matter expert on adult EHS learning in the workplace. 

  • Develop training aids such as manuals, hands on devices, aids, and handbooks. 

  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching. 

  • Design, apply and report out on assessment tools to measure training effectiveness. 

  • Track and report on training outcomes, compliance and keep leading metrics up to date. 

  • Handle all logistics for in-house training activities including venues and equipment. 

  • Pursue and obtain government incentives to fund skill development.  

  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.  

  • Manage special projects for Facilities and EHS&S needs.  

  • Annually audit, or coordinate with a 3rd party, inspect all Rigging equipment per Government regulations 

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver Emergency Response Team training. 

  • Act as EHS&S partner within the Operations Group to build and sustain a positive Safety and Sustainability culture that meets and exceeds JR Automation’s goals. 

  • With an active caring posture mentor, coaches and advises team members on working safely. 

  • Collaborates across functional groups to implement new EHS&S programs. 

  • Helps maintain facility and EHS&S building needs such as signage, first aid equipment, and Emergency Response needs. 

  • Participates as a team member in Company Projects representing Health, Safety, and Environment. May include brainstorming, assessments, and interpretation of Standards. 

  • Attain EHS related certificates and education related to job functions, specifically training and program development. 

  • Coordinate as needed safety-culture-improvement efforts, including proactive safety programs, employee engagement and risk awareness. 

  • Participates and runs division level safety walks/audits.  

  • Supports divisions as an EHS&S Specialist as needed. 

  • Able to communicate across the organizations on EHS&S needs from a corporate standpoint.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience within safety or experience teaching with a passion for safety and sustainability.  

  • Understanding of MIOSHA/OSHA and emerging sustainability regulations and standards. 

  • Strong safety awareness 

  • Good understanding of various teaching methodologies and tools including competency assessment and adult learning 

  • Ability to cater to different learning needs and competing priorities. 

  • Proficient in MS Office especially PowerPoint) 

  • Experience with an e-learning software and strong technology skills. 

  • Good time-management skills 

  • Ability to multi-task 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver 

 

JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
