About the role

Are you an aspiring editorial professional with a keen eye for detail? Do you have a passion for science and medical communications? We’re looking for an Editorial Assistant to join our dynamic Editorial Services team at Avalere Health. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a degree (preferably in life sciences) and a desire to develop a career in medical communications. 

What You'll Do


  • As an Editorial Assistant, you will provide essential support to our editorial team, ensuring the accuracy and quality of client project deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proofreading scientific materials, including manuscripts, slides, and reports
  • Conducting literature searches and retrieving references from online databases
  • Assisting in preparing journal and congress submission packages and ensuring compliance with editorial guidelines
  • Managing permissions acquisitions
  • Keeping accurate records and maintaining organized project files
  • Supporting editorial and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of projects

About You


  • To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences
  • A strong command of grammar, punctuation, and scientific terminology
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and online reference tools
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

  • Previous experience in an editorial role, medical communications, or publishing is a bonus, but not essential—we value a willingness to learn and a passion for accuracy in scientific communication.
